Frequently Asked Questions
What is it? — Describe the process...
After addressing any existing issues with your current floor such as repairing cracks, we apply a new layer of cement about 1/8 to ¼ inch thick. We can apply this in any texture you like from extremely smooth to very rough — most customers choose somewhere in between. We then apply the color of your choice. We finish with 3 coats of industrial/commercial grade sealer that give you the toughest (most abrasion resistant) non-baked surface on the market.
How is it installed?
A Gorgeous Floor is a seamless floor that is installed wall-to-wall with no grout lines.
What do you mean by "custom floor"?
This means that A Gorgeous Floor can be designed with any color, any texture and a variety of sheens.
How long does it take?
The average floor takes 4 to 5 days to build and an additional 2 days to dry.
What colors can you do?
We can compliment any color in a standard paint chart. Your choices are limitless!
What is the maintenance?
Just vacuum or damp mop — the shine remains. In fact the floor shown on our website home page was 1 & 1/2 years old when the photo was taken and has never been cleaned with anything but clear water. We just pushed the furniture out of the way and shot the pictures.
Can you go over ceramic tile or wood?
Yes at additional cost.
What about cracking?
Our product is actually flexible! If you coat a piece of 1/4" plywood and bend it into a "U" the plywood will break before the floor does. Imagine — FLEXIBLE cement!
Can it be resealed at a future date?
Yes, although we have yet to do so to even 1 floor due to wear.
Is it pet friendly?
Yes, even Muriatic acid or Xylene won't hurt the finish. Pets love our floor!
Is it slippery?
It is much less slippery than ceramic tile - Our sealer reacts like a rain coat when wet!
What are the advantages?
No waxing! It won't discolor or warp like wood. You can actually use a pressure washer on AGF without harm. Unlike Travertine or Marble AGF won't stain or loose its sheen and need repolishing - and of course there are no grout lines to clean!
